Film production company founded in Barcelona in 2018 by producer and director Antonio Chavarrías after a long and successful career. Oberon Media was created with the aim of developing a rigorous, high-quality line of production with an international scope and a particular interest in incorporating new creative talents.
Among Oberon Media’s most recent productions are Another Man (2026), the second feature film by David Moragas, which premiered internationally at the Thessaloniki Film Festival and was later presented at the Málaga Film Festival and the D’A Barcelona Film Festival as the opening film; The Exiles (2025) by Belén Funes, which premiered internationally at the Toronto Film Festival and nationally at the Málaga Film Festival, where it was awarded three Silver Biznagas; Miralles (2024), by Maria Mauti, with its international premiere at the Leipzig and Ji.hlava festivals; Campolivar (2024), by Alicia Moncholí, which premiered at the Gijón Film Festival and went on to compete at the San Sebastián International Film Festival; Holy Mother (2024) and In the Company of Women (2023), both premiered in the Official Section of the Málaga Film Festival, among others.
The company is currently producing the fiction feature films Glaç, by Lydia Zimmermann, and Mestres, directed by Judith Colell. In addition, several projects are in development, including Alguien te llama, by Antonio Chavarrías, and Cómo construir una mentira, by Marta Polo, among others.

Director, screenwriter and producer
In his extensive career, Chavarrías has written and directed many films, with notable works including Dictado (Berlin Film Festival - Official Section); Las vidas de Celia (San Sebastián Film Festival - Official Section); El elegido (world premiere on Netflix); Volverás, 2002 (Best Director at the Mar del Plata Film Festival; Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Cinematography at the Ariel Awards; Susana, 1996 (Karlovy Vary Film Festival), among others.
As a producer, he stands out for La teta asustada (Golden Bear at the Berlinale and nominated for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film); La hija de un ladrón by Belén Funes (premiered at the San Sebastián Film Festival and awarded Best New Director at the Goya Awards); Aro Tolbukhin in the Mind of a Killer by Agustí Villaronga, Lydia Zimmermanne, and Isaac P. Racine (7 Ariel Awards, San Sebastián Film Festival); Petra by Jaime Rosales (Directors' Fortnight at Cannes); Elisa K by Judith Colell and Jordi Cadena (Special Jury Prize at the San Sebastián Film Festival); or Pau y su hermano by Marc Recha (Official Selection at Cannes); among many other productions.

NATALIA PEÑA
Financial Director
Graduated in Business Administration and Management at the University of Barcelona, she specializes in tax advantages for film financial investments and complements her training with a Master's in Financial and Accounting Management at UPF Business School Management. After working for over 5 years as a production accountant at Nostromo Pictures, a film, series, and musical theater production company in Barcelona, she joins the Oberon Media team in 2023 as a Financial Director.


MANUELA MATASSINI
Executive Producer
Graduated in Audiovisual Communication at UPF. Currently, she is studying a Master in Creative Documentary at the Barcelona School of Management, while developing her first documentary project as a director. In 2022, she started working as a development assistant in Catalan film production companies such as Distinto Films and Eddie Saeta. Then, she works as head of development at the emerging production company Materia Cinema. At the same time, she creates and directs, together with the collective Les Daines, her first fiction short film Vinguin les Feres, premiered at the D'A Festival de Cinema d'Autor de Barcelona 2024. She joins Oberon Media at the beginning of 2025.

CARLA GUTIÉRREZ
Production and Development Coordinator
Graduated in Audiovisual Communication at UPF. Her work has been quite diverse, covering film, radio, and photography, with one of her projects, If I Could Bear Myself Like Trees Do, premiering at the San Sebastián International Film Festival '71. In 2024 she joins Oberon Media as production assistant and, in January 2025, she becomes fully integrated into the team as Production and Development Coordinator. At the same time, she is working on her first short film as scriptwriter and director, Abans de, while balancing with other audiovisual projects.
